Rules

Space Woofs is an asymmetrical game where players choose their side: on one side are the Barx and on the other are the Phoenix.
The Barx team monitors the prison and must hold out until reinforcements arrive in case of an attack. The Phoenix team, on the other hand, must successfully exfiltrate all the prisoners.

Setup:

– Indicate the teams on OLEM
– Place OLEM on the board and follow its instructions to build the level
– The Barx team places their prisoners
– The Phoenix team places their infiltration points
– The Barx team places their guards and specializes them in close combat or ranged combat
– The Phoenix team distributes their mercenaries across the different infiltration points

Gameplay:

The game is played in turns, with a time limit for each player.

Infiltration Phase:

Only the Phoenix team plays during this phase. The Barx team can only control OLEM’s movements.

Alert Phase:

The Phoenix team triggers the alarm when they shoot a Barx character (including OLEM) or interact with the control room. The alarm is then raised, and the Barx team can play.

Turn Execution:

For each player character, the following actions can be performed once per turn:
– Movement
– Attack (melee or ranged)
– Interaction with the control room: opening or closing prison doors
– Taking a prisoner: the prisoner serves as a shield to the player and can be placed in front of or behind them
– Entrusting a prisoner: transferring a prisoner to a character on an adjacent square

Note: For the Phoenix team, the faster you are on your turn, the more time you save on the global timer.

KO Character:

A KO mercenary takes a full turn before reappearing at an infiltration point. All Barx guards must be KO’d to reappear at guard generators after a full turn. Barx players can self-destruct their characters on their turn.

End of Game:

The Phoenix team wins if all prisoners are exfiltrated or if a prisoner is killed by a Barx character. The Barx team wins if the countdown reaches zero (Barx reinforcements arrive), if all characters of the Phoenix team are KO’d, or if a prisoner is killed by a Phoenix character.
OLEM:

Movements:

At each intersection, the Barx team must indicate a direction by passing their hand in front of the corresponding sensor. If they take too long, OLEM chooses a random direction. OLEM crushes anyone in its path.
Interactions:

It is possible to attack OLEM. However, it has 24 defense points and 24 attack points. It will retaliate by attacking the nearest attacking character. OLEM has only one life point. If OLEM is destroyed, the squares it occupies become impassable.

What types of games are available on OLEM?

When it comes to game types, there’s something for everyone! We know that board game enthusiasts have diverse tastes, and we didn’t want anyone to feel left out. That’s why we’re creating unique board games to offer a new way of playing; games with various styles, reflection, action, strategy, and variable durations, from 2 minutes to 2+ hours. With OLEM, there’s always a game that suits your mood.

You can check out the list of our first games here.

Once I have OLEM, will the new games be free or paid?

It depends. New games will be released regularly. On LudoTech’s side, we plan to offer both free and paid games. For games developed by independent authors, the decision is up to them, and they have the option to make it free or paid.

Is it possible to develop my own games?

Yes. For the most creative minds, we are currently developing a game design platform accessible to everyone. Don’t worry: whether you’re a beginner or an experienced programmer, you can unleash your imagination and bring your ideas to life. Two options will be available: for beginners in programming, a block-based development language, making game design easier. For experienced programmers, a C/C++ library with more complex functions.

What is the autonomy of OLEM?

The robot has a battery life of 8 hours. There’s a good chance you’ll get tired before it does!

Is the mobile app essential for playing?

No. We understand that players sometimes want to disconnect from the virtual world and screens, which is why several games can be played without the smartphone. However, the app has many features: it houses your digital game library, provides tutorials for quick gameplay, and allows you to explore the store for new downloads.

It can be an integral part of certain games to indicate placements and remember actions, among other things.

The app is also essential for keeping OLEM and your game library up to date.

You’ll find other useful and fun features, such as a ‘trophies’ tab and a system for connecting with nearby players, for example, which are currently in development.
