The app is already available on the Play Store for Android. The iOS version is still in beta testing but open to users. You can use it by following this link: https://testflight.apple.com/join/JUzG8bfN. We will keep users updated when it officially launches on the App Store.
If the app gets stuck (loading wheel keeps spinning) after entering the game code, try closing the app, then reopening it, and entering the code again. If this doesn’t work and the game code still won’t activate, please reach out to our support team at support-technique@ludo.tech.
The OLEM app may have difficulty connecting to Wi-Fi networks with spaces in their names (SSIDs). We recommend using an SSID without spaces to avoid this issue.
The online site and the OLEM app accounts are separate. Therefore, it’s normal to create a new account in the app, even if you already have one on our website.
If you have the Explorer Pack, this is normal. The 7th game, Space Woofs, is part of the Premium extension.
Error 4 means an authentication error. This may be due to an incorrect password or a specific problem with your Wi-Fi network. Here are some steps to follow:
1 - Check that you are using the correct password for your Wi-Fi network.
2 - Make sure your Wi-Fi network is working properly, and that there are no special restrictions (such as MAC address filtering).
3 - Restart OLEM and try the connection again. If the problem persists, try resetting the robot to factory settings and retrying the connection procedure.
Error “1001” means that your robot is in passive mode in terms of power management. Here are the steps to correct this problem:
1 - Press the OLEM power button for 1 second to activate power management correctly.
2 - Make sure the robot is connected via Bluetooth and follow the connection instructions.
The firmware update should take no longer than 6 minutes on average. If it takes longer, there may be a problem with the Wi-Fi connection. Make sure your network is working properly, and restart the update if necessary.
If OLEM does not move correctly but captures players without movement, this may indicate a calibration problem. It will be necessary to perform a “Factory Reset”:
1- Switch on OLEM.
2 - Go to Settings by clicking on the wheel at the top right, then scroll to the bottom. Click on “Factory Reset”.
3- Follow the OLEM start-up procedure and update the firmware via the application, then reinstall the games.
Please note: Slight changes of trajectory or small recalibration movements are not to be taken into account here. Follow these steps if OLEM doesn't move straight or bumps into walls in Guardian & Thieves, for example.)
If OLEM moves strangely on the board but works correctly off the board, this may indicate a calibration problem. You'll need to reset OLEM to factory settings. Here are the steps to follow:
1- Switch on OLEM and go to Settings by clicking on the wheel in the top right-hand corner.
2 - Scroll to the bottom and click on “Factory Reset”.
3 - Follow the OLEM Getting Started steps and update the firmware via the application, then reinstall the games.
If your OLEM freezes with a black screen, you can force a restart by holding down the power button for 10 seconds.
Try holding down the On/Off button for 15 seconds, or until the screen goes blank. If this doesn't work, try restarting OLEM outside its charging base.
Wear marks may appear on the contact points of the charger base after prolonged use. This should not affect the operation of OLEM. However, if a full charge takes longer than 3 hours, or if OLEM does not charge properly, please contact us for assistance.
Game rules are available on our website in the “Games” section. Select the game and scroll down to the “Rules” section, where you can download the PDF containing all the details. Rules PDFs are only available for the following games:
- Guardian & Thieves
- Space Woofs
- Apocalypse
- Getaway
- Olympic Party
- Roboe
- Catalauni
Does the gate make audible noise to the Golem when it's used?
The portal makes no noise in the game today.
Does the Golem move differently depending on the treasure stolen?
When a treasure is stolen, the Golem moves in turn towards the stolen treasure in question. If the location of the treasure is inaccessible to him, he will then move to the nearest accessible point to the treasure.
Are all the sounds heard on the app audible to OLEM?
No.
What is the purpose of the fort cards and direction signs in the components?
Interaction cards are not yet integrated and should be shortly. For a variant available at a later date, offering more possibilities for Catalauni players!
Screenblocked at the end of the Catalauni game
The “Replay” and “Quit” options are activated by sensors. We're planning to change the way they're currently displayed, as they can be misleadingly reminiscent of a button. In future, these options will be replaced by our new sensor interfaces, as you can see in Olympic Party.
Where to put OLEM on the board?
The location of OLEM is indicated in the rules, in the section “Gameplay” > “Preparation Phase”. The example specifies that the starting point is the cell drawn on the plan.
How can players find the direction of the map on their phone?Hints about the map's direction for players can be found in the “Gameplay” > “Preparation Phase” section. Clues, such as the Map Markers, are provided. These markers, in the form of a meal tray, are placed on the same squares for each plan.
If the Leader has activated the “Show North” option when setting up the game, all players also have on the plan an indication of where North is on their plan.
Why doesn't OLEM move in the directions shown when I move? It's likely that OLEM lit up red at the time. This indicates that it has hit a wall and is returning to the starting point. Since this must have been your first move, OLEM remains motionless, thinking it's still at the starting point.
For SimOlem, what do the symbols displayed on OLEM mean?
- Blue: Indicates an element to be added (screen title: “Add”)
- Yellow: Indicates an item to be repeated (title on screen: “Repeat”)
- Green: Indicates a validated element.
Our aim is to enable all users to create their own games for OLEM. We're working on a platform that will allow you to use our graphics tools as well as programming languages such as Python or block programming. However, the parts of the code linked to robot safety and hardware management will remain closed.
